Client: Zipfizz (via Designit)
Goal: Create themed seasonal content, lifestyle imagery for an active audience, and high-resolution packaging photography across multiple campaigns.
What we made: Themed product photography, videos, GIFs, lifestyle content with models, and focus-stacked fruit photography for packaging.
Where it was used: Social media, product packaging, and marketing campaigns.
Highlights: Cinco de Mayo and Star Wars themed campaigns, 4-day lifestyle shoot across Seattle with location permits and insurance coordination, focus stacking fruit photography for packaging use.
Value: A growing content library across four distinct campaigns, delivered on time despite complex logistics and a tight permitting window.
The Challenge
Zipfizz needed content that went beyond standard product shots. They needed visuals that felt fun, on-brand, and built for specific moments, seasonal campaigns, an active lifestyle audience, and packaging that could communicate flavor at a glance.
The work came through Designit, a creative agency that partners with Zipfizz on their content and brand campaigns. Rich at Designit found Sean through his website and Instagram portfolio and brought him on as the photographer for a series of projects that grew in scale over time.
Each project came with its own creative brief, timeline, and production requirements. The through line was the same across all of them: deliver strong visuals that matched the moodboard, on time, with a process that made the Designit team's job easier.
What We Did
Cinco de Mayo Campaign
The first project was a themed content shoot built around two concepts: a Cinco de Mayo celebration and a "May the 5th Be With You" Star Wars theme.
For the Cinco de Mayo content, Sean created a festive tablescape featuring Zipfizz drinks styled in margarita glasses with flavors and props that matched the holiday vibe. Deliverables included one photo, one video, and one behind-the-scenes video.
For the Star Wars theme, Designit provided the cocktail names and concepts and Sean developed the creative scenes to bring each one to life. Five final images were delivered, each styled around a distinct Star Wars reference.
Summer Lifestyle Campaign
The largest production in the partnership was a summer lifestyle shoot built around active outdoor living. The goal was to show real people enjoying Zipfizz across a variety of activities including hiking, paddleboarding, beach time, and pickleball.
This was a 4-day production across multiple locations in the Seattle area:
Day 1: Hiking and pickleball locations with two models
Day 2: Beach and paddleboarding locations with two models
Day 3: Studio shoot showcasing a new Zipfizz flavor with photos and video
Day 4: Additional studio shoot at the home studio location
The production team included Sean, a location scout, a production assistant, and a food stylist. Designit brought a separate videographer for the first two days and an assistant creative director, AJ, who was on location throughout to provide real-time feedback and keep the shoot aligned with the moodboard.
57 final assets were delivered, including both photos and GIFs.
Fruit Flavor Packaging Photography
The most recent project, currently in progress, involves high-resolution fruit photography for Zipfizz's packaging. Sean is using focus stacking to ensure every fruit is fully sharp from front to back, giving the Zipfizz team clean, detailed imagery that communicates flavor cues across their tubes, boxes, and other product packaging.
How we worked together
Designit led the creative direction across all projects, providing moodboards and concepts that Sean used as the foundation for each shoot.
For the lifestyle campaign, the planning process included location scouting to find spots across Seattle that matched the aesthetic the brand was after. Sean also coordinated the permitting process, working with the city to secure the correct approvals and insurance documentation needed to shoot in public parks.
That process hit a real obstacle. The insurance documentation required sign-off from Wipro, Designit's India-based parent company. With time zone differences, office closures, and Seattle's unpredictable early summer weather creating a narrow window for sunny shoot days, the team had to move fast. Sean worked across all parties to push the paperwork through in time, and the permits were secured before the shoot window closed.
On location, Sean used CaptureOne for iPad to display images on a larger screen in real time as they were captured. AJ from Designit could review shots instantly and provide feedback without waiting for a tethered laptop setup, keeping the shoot moving efficiently across all locations.
Within 48 hours of each shoot day, Sean delivered a rough edit of selects for the Designit team to review. They chose their preferred images, and Sean's team completed the final edits for delivery.
“Sean was great working with us on a super tight timeline. He was able to both execute our vision and meet our requirements while also bringing his creativity and expertise to the table. Looking forward to working with him again on future projects.”
What this unlocked for Zipfizz
Across four projects, Zipfizz built a content library that covered seasonal campaigns, lifestyle storytelling, and packaging photography, each with a distinct creative direction and a consistent level of quality.
The seasonal campaigns gave Zipfizz timely, themed content ready for social deployment. The lifestyle shoot gave their team 57 assets showing the product in the real-world moments their audience connects with. The packaging photography, will give the brand a library of high-resolution fruit imagery built specifically for product packaging use.
The partnership has grown project by project because the process worked. Tight timelines were met. Production challenges were solved. And the final images matched what the moodboard called for.
