South 40 Snacks: Launch-Ready Photography Across Lifestyle, E-Commerce, and In-Store Displays

Client: South 40 Snacks

Partnership: One-time product launch project (in-studio, Seattle) for South 40 Snacks' new nut bars and fruit leathers

Goal: Build a launch-ready image library that could promote the new bars across social, the website, sales sheets, and store displays, and help the product stand out next to competitors on shelf.

What we made: Lifestyle photos, about 6 grocery store dump bin display images (plus display graphic design), roughly 20 transparent e-commerce images for Amazon and other retail sites, and 6 box and bar product images.

Where it was used: Social media, website, e-commerce, sales sheets, and in-store dump bin displays.

Highlights: A one-day in-studio shoot that produced four distinct deliverable types, clear packaging lit to control reflections, dump bin display graphics designed alongside the photography.

Value: Sean led the project from mood board through final delivery, working hands-on with the South 40 team on set to guide prop and image choices in real time.

The Challenge

South 40 Snacks was launching new nut bars and fruit leathers and needed imagery that could carry the products across several very different placements at once: social media, their website, sales sheets, and physical store displays. The new packaging used clear film, which meant reflections had to be solved before anything else, so the product read clean under studio lighting without hot spots or glare washing out the packaging.

What We Did

Sean led creative direction and photography for a one-day studio shoot built around a shared mood board. The day covered four deliverable types: Lifestyle Photography (hands-on-product shots for web and social), Dump Bin Display Images (about 6 images plus graphic design for two display units), E-Commerce Photography (around 20 transparent product images for Amazon and other retail listings, lit to control reflections), and Packaging Photography (6 images of the boxes and bars themselves). Total deliverables: four content types from a single one-day production, covering everything from shelf to screen.

How we worked together

South 40 Snacks is local, so the team came to the studio and worked in person throughout the shoot. James Swinyard, Head of Marketing, brought in a model for the day and stayed hands-on the whole time. The mood board was built ahead of the shoot so everyone was working from the same reference, and James gave direct input on prop choices and image selection as we went.

What this unlocked for South 40 Snacks

A versatile image library covering social media, website, e-commerce (Amazon and other retail sites), sales sheets, and in-store dump bin displays. The display graphics also gave South 40 a ready-to-print asset for retail partners, so the launch had a consistent look from shelf to scroll.

Sean was very organized and professional in the lead up to our shoot which made for a very smooth studio session. He is great with the camera and delivers assets on time. Great overall experience.
